It is August which only means one thing – it is Camden Fringe time! Over the next few weeks we are chatting to acts that are performing at the festival and finding all about their show and what they would call this years iconic Camden Fringe Pigeon! How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the Camden fringe?
My colleague Saadiya came up with Hot Goss because all of our pieces cover some really hot topics in contemporary poltics in a very juicy way
Tell us a little bit about your style of show?
They’re all dark comedy in some way. There are twists and turns so you never quite know whats to come.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
Spiders by Poisoned Well Theatre. But also just looking to jump in and see as many things as possible
What advice would you give to others who want to perform at Camden Fringe next year?
You just gotta do it. Dive in, this is what we do!
What is the best thing about performing at the Camden fringe?
The theatres are super friendly and easy to work with. They really make it comfortable as an artist to pitch your work and make things happen
London can be an expensive place to perform in – what key advice would you give to performers that is a sort of life hack?
You have to get good at admin.Performing is the fun part but puting on a show takes a shit tonne of paperwork.
What are your three favourite things about Camden?
Its in one of the best parts of london, Its very progressive, and the vibe is unbeatable
Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?
Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Or Ian McKellan. Well both really.
The iconic image of the Camden Fringe is the Pigeon – if you could call this years pigeon a name to represent its style what would it be and why?
Mr Pigeontitu Columbiformes – because he looks like a teacher Saadiya had in High school and her name was Titus
