How did you come up with the name of your show that you’re taking to the Camden fringe?

I’ve been a bit of a nomad most of my adult life, and while my suitcases have gotten smaller, the proverbial baggage filling them definitely exceeds EasyJet limits. I turned 40 during the COVID years and that period of stillness after a lifetime of movement made me realize it was time to dig a little deeper into why I felt the need to keep running. Quite literally, unpack it.

Tell us a little bit about your style of show?

Well, my life’s always been a bit of a rom-com without much of the “rom”… and this show gives a little insight into why. It’s a rom-less comedy, if you will.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

So many! Everytime I see a new post on the Camden Fringe socials I get excited. I love comedy, so I’m looking forward to checking out some of the stand-up comedy acts, and I’m a huge advocate women’s stories.. “26.2 Reasons To Stay Alive” caught my eye, as well as “The Womb” at CPT. Really grateful to be a part of Fringe this year and will try to take in as much as I can.

what advice would you give to others who want to perform at Camden Fringe next year?

Don’t be afraid to ask for help!

What is the best thing about performing at the Camden fringe?

This is my first Fringe so it may be a total disaster, but I’m looking forward learning from my mistakes. I notoriously make a lot of them.

London can be an expensive place to perform in – what key advice would you give to performers that is a sort of life hack?

Sell your organs. But do it while you’re young… mine are too old now and no one wants them.

What are your three favourite things about Camden?

Live music and theatre, Regent’s Park, and The Green Note – Camden was one of the first spots I explored when I was working as a music journalist in London a million years ago, and it feels very poetic to be performing my first solo show here a million years later.

Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?

Sharon Horgan. It’s my dream to work with her. (Please don’t tell me if she comes. I’ll absolutely blackout on stage.)

The iconic image of the Camden Fringe is the Pigeon – if you could call this years pigeon a name to represent its style what would it be and why?

Sassafras. Not every pigeon can pull off a top hat.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

Instagram – @christina.morelli – that’s the main one. I rarely use Twitter/X anymore because every time I log on I lose the will to live.

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Laughter through tears. (That’s my favorite emotion)
