Hello! Tell us about yourself?
My name is Casey Feigh and I’m comedic actor, writer and producer from Los Angeles, California. I work in film and television with credits on shows like What We Do In The Shadows, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, For All Mankind, The Goldbergs, Night Court, Unprisoned, etc. I perform stand-up and improv. In my not so humble opinion, me and my friends are some of the best improvisers in the world.
Tell us all about your show!
Technically, it’s a longform improv show with two halves. One half we play more organic, getting a single word or phrase from the audience and creating a whole 25-30 min comedy show on the spot. The other half we talk to the crowd and pull comedic scene ideas from our conversations with them. It’s fast, funny, occasionally smart, more often stupid and always hilarious.
How did you come up with the name of your show that you’re taking to the fringe?
We call our show Holy Sh*t Improv because at least once a show we’ll get you to laugh so hard you’ll think “Holy Sh*t that’s funny!” And if you come to our shows in LA you’ll see celebrities playing with us and think “Holy Sh*t that’s (insert famous person’s name here)!” So it works both ways. HSI has been playing to sold out houses in LA for 3 years. So we’re very excited to bring it to Edinburgh!
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
This is my first time going to Fringe so I only really know the LA people. I love Zach Zucker and what he’s built with Stamptown. Natalie Palamides is currently workshopping a show here in LA, and I can’t wait to check that out. Also I love the London based improv theater, Free Association. I’ll definitely be seeing their shows and maybe even jumping into one or two.
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
Never done the Fringe before but like all Americans, I’m not afraid to have strong opinions on things I know nothing about. So my advice for people is to get some sleep! Have a good time, sure, but at the end of the night, drink a glass of water, brush, floss & try to get 8 hours sleep (or more). Sleep is so important.
What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?
Spending it with friends and loved ones. That or seeing Holy Shit Improv 9pm every night from 16-26 Aug, at The Gilded Balloon’s Patter House (The Dram).
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
I hope to meet a lot of creative people and artists of all kinds. To show them what I do and watch what they do. I hope we can inspire each other, learn from each other and through that become better artists and people.
What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?
Guessing here but I’m going with: laptop, kissy book – a book where you collect kisstographs, which is like autographs but it’s people’s kisses – and at least some clothes.
If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?
I’m @caseyfeigh on all social media and the show is @HolyShitImprov on instagram
And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
You’ll have fun!
