Hello! Tell us about yourself?

I’m a multimedia comedian! I do videos and PowerPoints in my stand up, and show it on a screen. I recently turned 30 and am fine with that. I have ADHD and it’s very apparent when you meet me. I also love crêpes, which is less apparent when you meet me, unless I’m eating a crêpe, which tbf I often am.

Tell us all about your show!

My show is a multimedia comedy show about weirdness. I’ve always thought of myself as not normal, and have been told my comedy is a bit weird, so i’m exploring what it means to be weird, be fusing traditional stand up comedy with weird stuff like videos, computer programs, graphs, and some very amateur robotics. It’s high energy stupidity!

How did you come up with the name for the show you’re taking to the fringe?

The original idea was a show called ‘110% Ted Hill’, about me trying to be as ‘me’ as I can on stage, but its slowly morphed into being about weirdness, so the title had to change.

One other idea was naming it ‘Crêpe Hill: Aren’t Crêpes Just So Good?’ because of a sponsorship deal I have, which I’d prefer not divulge.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

I love people who do interesting stuff with their comedy. I can’t wait to see Alex Franklin, Mat Ewins, Rosalie Minnitt, Lou Wall, Huge Davies, and many many more. I love the fringe! But really I’d go and see any shows near the crêpe hut in George Square, as it’s so conveniently located, especially considering their prices are so low!

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe?

This is my third time doing a full show at the Fringe, and the main thing I’ve learned is that the best thing you can do for yourself is to prepare mentally  for the Fringe being over. Remember that it isn’t real and your actual life will have to carry on after, so stock up on those delicious crêpes.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

That’s a good question, but the real issue the public will be concerned about here is my favourite flavour of crêpe. I love the ham and garlic one, it’s delicious. But no matter what flavour you get, you can’t go wrong with a crêpe from the crêpe hut in George Square

What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?

Go out and socialise!! Everyone is in the same city so go hang out with them!!!! And this is genuinely just because I think this but the crêpe hut in George Square is a great place to socialise, and all the other crêpe houses apparently are terrible so don’t go there.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

Thank you for including that question at my request. The crêpe hut in George Square and it always will be. Teddy needs his crêpes.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

It’s the sheer number of days. Getting to do the show every day at for a month in the same venue at the same time is so great; it removes so many of the variables and really helps make a show bulletproof. Also the crepês

Top tips for travelling around the Fringe and getting to shows on time?

Leave time to stop and get crêpes

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

  1. Crêpes
  2. Money to buy crêpes
  3. Public insurance

What’s the secret to successful flyering?

If you wrap your flyers up in a crêpe then people will be more likely to take it but also there’s a risk they accidentally eat your flyer so this is when you use that public liability insurance.

If people want to find out more about you, where can they follow you on social media?

I’m @thetedhill on all the usual places

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Because I love to break rules and also crêpes
