Hello! Tell us about yourself?
I’m Guy, I’m a theatre and filmmaker based in Glasgow. I once played football with Thierry Henry when I was a children’s party entertainer.
Tell us all about your show!
It’s a one-person storytelling show about a boy who gets brainfreeze when he finds out his mum’s died. The brainfreeze takes over his whole body and he becomes frozen (but functional) for his whole adolescence- which is a bad time anyway. It’s quite silly, quite wet and arguably quite strange.
How did you come up with the name of your show that you’re taking to the Fringe?
I was thinking a lot about puddles.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the Fringe?
The Show for Young Men and Elf Lyons, she’s amazing.
Have you done the Fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the Fringe.
Yes I have, I would say don’t flyer a hen do when you’re putting on new writing. They can and will be vocal.
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
Breakfast, shower, go over show notes, see a show, flyer, get ready for show, perform, breathe, eat, see some more shows, have a laugh, sleep. As the festival goes on eat more.
What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the Fringe?
Lie down on the meadows for five minutes.
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
Noodles and dumplings! The way they work that noodle dough is quite mesmerising.
Best thing about performing at the Fringe?
Seeing all the other shows. People are so funny and clever!
Top tips for travelling around the Fringe and getting to shows on time?
I cycle, but a brisk walk goes a long way.
What would be your top three items every performer must take to the Fringe?
Lemon and ginger teabags, a crossword book, hip flask.
What’s the secret to successful flyering?
I don’t know but please let me know what your findings are.
If people want to find out more about you, where can they follow you on social media?
Follow @puddlesandamazons for everything about the show. You can follow me too but it’s far less exciting.
