Hello! Tell us about yourself?

I’m a person from rural Australia who is on a mission to take down the corporate world. Or at the very least, to make sure you never look at the office the same again.

Tell us all about your show!

The show tells my own personal story of coming from a working class family in the outback, to the dizzying heights of an elite global corporate job, and back again. And how that all led to me jumping ship to start afresh with a career in comedy. The show mixes clowning and heartfelt story telling as a form of group therapy for those stuck in the rat race.

How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the fringe?

I wanted the name to achieve two things 1) To make it clear that it’s about corporate life and 2) To reassure that it isn’t boring. I love the contrast of the two words “Corporate” and “Chronicles” and how it conveys there will something unique and exciting in the show

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

I see a lot of comedy all year round so I am most looking forward to seeing things that are different. Circus, dance, clowning. Anything that is really out there and stretches my imagination

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

This is my first time doing Edinburgh Fringe although I have done other Fringe festivals around the world. The best advice is to show up with an open mind and let the festival teach you what it has to teach you.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe:

The fun part of the festival is no two days are the same. I’ll go where the wind takes me. However, three things are a critical part of every day – a good breakfast, thinking over any learnings from last night’s show, and catching up with other artists.

What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?

Come with no expectations and embrace everything.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

I’ve never been to Edinburgh so I have no expectations. Lebanese food is my favourite so I’m hoping I can find at least one go to spot for this cuisine while I’m there!

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Meeting people passionate about comedy and meeting other artists, and learning from each other. I hope to have many new friends by the time I leave.

Top tips for travelling around the Fringe and getting to shows on time?

Don’t try to cram too many shows in, leave walking time in between!

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

Bring an open mind, ear plugs for sleeping and a phone charger.

What’s the secret to successful flyering?

I genuinely enjoy flyering. I try to find something fun in every interaction rather than worrying about if people will come or not. I think that helps as it gives a person an idea of your vibe and that the show will be fun too.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

You can find me on @kurt.sterlingcomedy on Tik Tok or Instagram. I try to push the boundaries with my content and mess with people (e.g. fake tour guide at the Eiffel Tower). I’ll no doubt find some fun stuff to post in Scotland in the lead up to the festival too.

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

If you work in an office or your partner works in an office, this show is the laughter therapy you need. Come and lets point out together the absurdities we have all witnessed but no one has ever said out loud.
