Hello! Tell us about yourself?

I’m Elvis McGonagall. Stand-up poet, armchair revolutionary and walking shortbread tin.

Tell us all about your show!

I’ll be kicking down the rotting doors of power through the unlikely medium of satirical verse as the world trundles down the primrose path to Beelzebub’s bottomless pit. Happy days.

How did you come up with the name of your show that you’re taking to the fringe?

I had a wee discussion with my cat Bonnie Prince Charlie. He insisted on being on all publicity material for the show. Which is its entire raison d’être to be honest. Hence the name.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

Ed Aczel. Rob Auton. Luke Wright. Edward Tripp. And Craig Revel Horwood playing Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” on a kazoo.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

Yes. Three times. I swore there wouldn’t be a fourth but here we are.

Advice – we’re all just muddling through the sheer futility of existence. The cloud-capp’d towers, the gorgeous palaces, the solemn temples, the great globe itself, ye all which it inherit, shall dissolve. And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, leave not a rack behind. So you might as well have a pint.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe

6am: Tai-chi on Arthur’s Seat. 12.20pm: Do show. 2pm: Late liquid lunch at Kay’s Bar.

3pm: Sunbathing in Leith. 8pm: Dinner at The Dogs (see below).

What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?

“Enjoy?” Is this a trick question?

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

The Dogs on Hanover Street which I’ve just discovered has been closed for six years now.

I’m distraught. And hungry.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

The wealth. The fame. The pies.

Top tips for travelling around the Fringe and getting to shows on time?

Look at your watch. Walk off the pies.

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

Tartan thong. Personal valet. Return ticket.

What’s the secret to successful flyering?

Get someone else to do it.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

I am social media’s invisible man. Technically you can “follow” me but do you want to find yourself in Narnia?

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Res ipsa loquitur.
