Hello! Tell us about yourself?
I do a lot of this in my show but the main things are I’m a comedian and writer in London from the rural West Midlands and I wear glasses.
Tell us all about your show!
It’s a show about gifts and some things that have happened to me recently, including a death, a game of football, and a skydive.
How did you come up with the name of your show that you’re taking to the fringe?
It’s called My Gift to You because I didn’t charge people entry to the early versions of the show. But gifts became more of a theme later.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
Dan Rath, Aaron Chen, Nina Conti, and other people in comedy who I’m more acquainted with but I don’t want to start listing here. Where does it stop, you know?
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
Someone told me to watch a play sometimes. Haven’t done it, but I thought that was really smart advice.
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
I like to freestyle throughout the day – but it always starts with The Phoenix Remix dot com.
What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?
I’d have to say, the shows!
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
I only seem to eat chips at the Fringe. The whole month is constant chips.
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
When people turn up and then laugh, that’s nice.
Top tips for travelling around the Fringe and getting to shows on time?
Free-run into traffic and slide across a car bonnet. Vault over a pram. Knock a hotdog out of someone’s hand.
What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?
Debit card, keys, phone.
What’s the secret to successful flyering?
Appear as though you’re only flyering in order to sell off the last few tickets of your massively in-demand show. Conceal the truth, which is that you’re bum rushing pedestrians because you have no marketing plan.
If people want to find out more about you, where can they follow you on social media?
Instagram is the main one – I’m on @AlfiePackham.
And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
It’s a gift.
