Hello! Tell us about yourself?
My closest friends and all my family call me Willy.
I’m just under 5 Subway Sandwiches tall.
I once killed a man with my bare hands during a poetry writing class.
One of these is a lie.
Tell us all about your show?
It’s about feeling like the odd one out, but then realising that everyone has felt like that at some point so let’s just crack on right.
How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the fringe?
I found myself saying the phrase a few times over the years to various cretins who put me in difficult situations.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
Rob Copland, absolute carnage – No set is ever the same.
Jin Hao Li. Or as I call him the Goat.
Abby Wambaugh is the kindest and loveliest comedian from Copenhagen.
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
If you’re a performer do a three way split first, then do a double and then it’s time to debut, a solo show, alone, that’s the comedian’s final form.
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe.
Wake up, drive to portobello beach, go to the Leisure Centre there, it’s right on the seafront. I swim, steam and cold plunge it for about an hour. I’ll come home, cook a big lunch and see a show or two. In the evening I’ll perform my show. Depending on how the show went I will either have a beer or go to bed and watch true crime docs, where I will compare myself to the most brutal of killers saying ‘at least i’m not eating people’s faces, that’s a win right.’
What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?
Stare at the sea as much as possible. Sleep and drink water more than you currently are.
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
Maki & Ramen
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
Pool table at Brooks bar
Top tips for travelling around the Fringe and getting to shows on time?
Get a harley davidson motorbike to nip about town on.
What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?
Water bottle, Gold AK47, pet monkey
What’s the secret to successful flyering?
Tell people you don’t want them coming as it’s full.
If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?
@willyrobbins – Insta
@thelovelyboys – Insta + TikTok
And finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
A lovely Boy
