Hello! Tell us about yourself?
Hello! I’m a stand up comedian from South London.
Tell us all about your show!
I’ve made a show called Netflix and Chilton, it’s a hilarious romp through this time I went abroad and lost my mind. I don’t mean metaphorically I mean I literally thought I was being chased by the President of the United States. It’s a barrel of laughs and it will be better if you are there so come.
How did you come up with the name of your show that you’re taking to the fringe?
After copious amounts of research I learnt that Netflix and Sex are two of the most popular things in the entire world. I thought I should have a title that associates me with these two very popular pastimes.
Now people will think either I have a deal with Netflix or I have a lot of sex. Neither of these things are true but the joy of marketing is that you can pretty much lie.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
Oh I don’t go to the Fringe shows they suck…joking. I wana see that Greek Myth Wrestling show and my boy Alfie Packham. Also really brand new acts who have been way too ambitious about the kind of show they’ve made. I love amateur comedy the best cos you really have no idea where it’s gonna go. And some of those people end up being amazing.
Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.
Yes! If you do a split bill make sure that your partner is either way more successful than you or an absolute machine at organisation and emails. You want to ensure you are the weak link of the team otherwise you’ll get annoyed at dragging this dead weight along with you.
Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe
I wake up, dress and feed myself all by myself, do like 10,000 sit ups, yell at my reflection in the mirror that I am a champion, cry, then go to my show, do my show, go home and sit until it’s time for a brand new day
What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?
I don’t think performers enjoy themselves at Fringe
Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?
The best place to eat is in the presence of good company
Best thing about performing at the fringe?
You only have to work an hour a day and everyone says you are brave and couldn’t possibly do what you do.
What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?
Laptop to watch Netflix on, condoms and a bin to put them in when they inevitably reach their expiration date
What’s the secret to successful flyering?
Be an actor or clown. Those guys are great at flyering. Stand ups suck at it
If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?
On the old Instagram lukechiltoncomedian
Or if you’re mental you can follow me on X ChiltonlukeLuke but I never really go on there
Or you can take my number, but you gotta really charm me for that
And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
Netflix. And. Chilton.
