Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
HERE COMES TRUFFLE
Today we are going down to the cupboard food aisle to have a look at a version of Mac and Cheese you may not of heard of before.
The product that we are looking at today is by a company called Goodles. The company was founded in Santa Cruz California, they also aim to bring a different take on mac and cheese. They apparently re-imagined the popular product that has 14 grams of protein, 7 grams of fibre and 21 nutrients from plants. They sell a variety of products that you can order online or from the shops – today we are going to be looking at one of their flavours.
Here Comes Truffle is one of the products that the company produces. This popular version is a ‘creamy buttery blend of white cheddar and parmesan’ which is mixed in with black truffle. This item can be bought for $3.99 for a 6oz box. Each portion serving is 35 grams of fat and 260 calories.
The product has many reviews with people praising it for the taste and that the truffle is a lovely taste. It is a lot of the customers favourite version of the mac and cheese. Some people say it is pricey for the portion price.
