Bamboogie – Bamboo

There is a song that I remember a time in the nineties when it was everywhere. It is one of those songs that sort of disappeared (so did the group). However, if you hear it again today you will more then likely remember it.

On the 5th January 1998, the British house act called Bamboo released the song called Bamboogie. It was written by H W Casey and Rick Finch and produced by Andrew Livingstone and S Marks. The single was released on the record labels of Virgin and VC. If part of the song sounds familiar to you it could be because it samples ‘Get Down’ by KC and the Sunshine Band.

The song did very well in the charts and went into the top 10 in Finland (10), Iceland (7), Ireland (7), Italy (7) and Europe (10) The single did really well in the United Kingdom and went straight into the charts at number 2 and was a tight race to number 1 as it was only 557 copies behind All Saints single Never Ever.
