Get Stupid – Aston Merrigold

Ever so often a boyband breaks up and then members of the band will release solo tracks to see if they can make it on their own. Today we are going to have a look at a song that was released by a member of JLS.

Get Stupid was released on the 24th July 2015 by the musician Aston Merrigold. It was written by Aston, Karen Poole and Sonny J Mason. It was released under the record label of Warner Brothers and was the debut song of his solo career. The single was released solely as a digital download and was also used in a Samsung television advertisement as well.

The single did reasonably well in the charts and went into the top 30 in Australia (10), Scotland (15) and the UK (28). In Australia the song did so well it became certified platinum.

I always enjoyed this track as I found it really catchy and very different to the music that he was releasing with JLS.
