Day 12 – Heart And Souls

Robert Downey Jnr has been a part of my life since a very young age. I used to watch him in loads of things such as Ally McBeal (he was the best love interest, I watched it all through around 2011 and still felt this although he had to leave due to issues in his personal life.) and I am a huge fan of his depiction of Charlie Chaplin. It wasn’t until later in life that I discovered that he was in a film that I watched a lot as a kid. It was a film that took my forever to find again as an adult as I remembered parts of it and never knew the name.

Here is the synopsis:

An unhappy businessman finds a new sense of purpose after he’s tasked with helping a quartet of ghosts fulfill their last wishes before moving on to the afterlife.

Whilst the film may technically be based around a dark subject it also has a lot of comedy and yet again Robert Downey Jnr shows his talents off as he has to play a number of different roles throughout and that is where the comedy comes.

The music parts are the best and it is one of the main things I remember fondly of the film and everytime I hear Walk Like A Man I think if this film, although for years I never knew what the film was called so it was a matte of frustration and seeing these people in my mind dancing down the street.

I said before that I feel films in my childhood moulded me into a dreamer and romantic at heart and I feel this is one of those films that had the influence. I remember it being around a lot when I was really young and even though it has some emotional parts I feel it has inspired me in some ways.
