The Travel Book – Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom

If you are looking for somewhere on the south coast of the United Kingdom that is not that far way from London, has direct trains and allows you to embrace to coast in a place that is not as touristy as Brighton then I have a place for you to visit!

Eastbourne is situated on the south east, between Brighton and Hastings it is a location that is rich in history and has a lot of the Victorian history that is still evident today when you walk around the sea front. That is what makes this place so special and unique. Eastbourne is home to the famous Beachy Head and is not that far way from the South Downs National Park, however there is one thing that I love about this place and that is the coastline.

Now, this beach is full of pebbles but it is a wonderful place to walk along as there is a lovely pier that dates back to the Victorian times and a band stand that dates back to the 1930s.

I find this a wonderful place to go walking because if you go one way you get these amazing views of the sea that lead to quaint villages and then if you go the other way you end up with these huge dramatic cliffs. Eastbourne is one of those places that you cannot get bored in as the coastline is magnificent.

They have various events throughout the year as well such as Tennis, air shows, art trails and much more! If you go off season you can come to the conclusion that it is a very quiet place however it can be incredibly vibrant in the peak months, I would highly recommend going in both seasons to really experience it.
