Trivia
The castle the two leading characters climb up to is the Rock of Dunamase in County Laois – although it has been added to with CGI.
The bridge on which Anna and Declan have the conversation about his ex-fiancée is in St. Stephen’s Green, a well-known park in central Dublin.
According to the director, the film is inspired by I Know Where I’m Going! (1945).
The scene where the men in the van stop and then drive off with Anna’s luggage, was filmed outside Louisburgh in County Mayo, on the road towards Killary Harbour/Leenane.
