• The castle the two leading characters climb up to is the Rock of Dunamase in County Laois – although it has been added to with CGI.
• The bridge on which Anna and Declan have the conversation about his ex-fiancée is in St. Stephen’s Green, a well-known park in central Dublin.
• According to the director, the film is inspired by I Know Where I’m Going! (1945).
• The scene where the men in the van stop and then drive off with Anna’s luggage, was filmed outside Louisburgh in County Mayo, on the road towards Killary Harbour/Leenane.
