The festive period is here and there are so many shows that are available for audiences to go and watch! Over the next few weeks, we will be talking to lots of different shows and performers about what they have in store for this time of year! Today we find out all about the Fairytale on Church Street that is happening between the 8th-30th December in London at The Cockpit. The show is a magical, musical adventure featuring everyone’s favourite fairytale characters, today I find out all about it.
Tell us all about the character that you play?
I am playing the Big Bad Wolf, he’s a landlord who is looking to knock down the theatre to make room for a block of flats.
Will there be a bit of festivity in your show?
Well it’s a panto, so expect all the fun of that style show, with a story that’s centred around Church Street and The Cockpit itself.
What are your favourite things about the festive season and why?
My favourite thing about the festive season is getting all your friends and family together. It’s just nice to be able to reconnect with everyone and have a good time.
This time of year the venues tend to be a bit busier as well – do you find that the audience changes at all?
For me I feel like the audiences like to get more involved and that’s why panto is so good, for the audience that wants to laugh and be a part of the show.
What advice would you give for people performing around the festive season?
Always find the fun in what you’re doing, the more fun you have the more fun the audience will have.
What is the best thing about a night at your show for the audience?
The great musical performances, the jokes and the audience participation!
If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?
Check out The Cockpit on all social media for updates.
And finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
Musical, Hilarious, Joyful!
