There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.
If there is one city that I have alway adored then that is Chicago. When I was a kid, I was fascinated by the city as it was a level in one of my favourite Tony Hawks games, It was also the subject of a lot of Fall Out Boy songs as they were from there.
When I got to visit the city not once but twcie in 2011 and it was as great or even better then I ever imagined – I always had a fantastic time in the windy city.
I absolutely love this photograph for so many reasons – firstly because this is the bridge that I spent ages doing tricks over it on Tony Hawks seeing something like this in reality was so surrreal but also incredibly exciting. It looked just like it did in the game (apart from the fact in Tony Hawks is was open).
I love this photograph, it may not seem alot to some but to me it feels powerful, bold and also incredibly inspiring. I adore the contrast of the bold, red bridge with the dark water underneath with white buildings behind.
This is a photograph that makes me happy and brings back some great memories and makes me want to go back and visit again.
