Welcome the feature where we ask musicians or bands five really tough questions about music! Today I speak to the band Ckraft, who have recently been on tour in France and have another show on the 20th October in Monbeliard. Today I speak to frontman Charles all about music.
What is the hardest lyric you have ever had to write and why?
Hi guys, thanks for having us today! Well, we’re an instrumental band so there’s no lyrics to write on our side 😉
What is the weirdest gift or compliment a fan has given you?
That’s a tough question, I guess our fans are quite gentle and smooth – we never had anything remotely weird!
Who is the best band or musician you have had the pleasure to share the stage with?
I wouldn’t think of anyone as being “the best”, but I had the chance to be invited by Imperial Triumphant on stage during their last tour and it was brilliant, I’m really fond of these guys, their music and their whole visual universe is just fantastic – if you don’t know him you have to check the drummer Kenny Grohowski. True virtuosos in the weirdest and most badass possible way.
What one of your songs has been the most difficult to rehearse for a live audience?
That’s an excellent question, I actually write this music tailored for the stage to begin with, so whatever you hear on the album, you’ll hear it in our concerts. We have a strict “if we’re not playing it, we’re not recording it” policy! But if I had to pick one I’d say the first track of our first album was quite a challenge to put together back when we were first rehearsing!
Dream collaboration and why ?
I’m dreaming of having a Tigran Hamasyan and/or a Fredrick Thordendal solo on our next albums. These guys are ultimate masters and major influences to my soloing!
