Welcome the feature where we ask musicians or bands five really tough questions about music! Today we speak to Vaya, who is heading to Toronto on the 2nd November with Vaya Brutal. Today we ask five tough questions about music.

What is the hardest lyric you have ever had to write and why? 

I never had any issue to « broke my feather » on the paper:) And I have been always and still be really grateful to the Universe to give me always this beautiful Flow of Inspiration. I always have been thankful, it is a part of the process because as Artists there can be a kind of « blank or winter time » that is crystalizing this flow. In general it is because a beautiful change will appear.

What is the weirdest gift or compliment a fan has given you? 

A flower ( I think it was a rose) but I liked it. And the funniest was a car plate finishing by 69 from a girl from Nashville; she was a lost adorable Angel.

Who is the best band or musician you have had the pleasure to share the stage with? 

I am still waiting for it

What one of your songs has been the most difficult to rehearse for a live audience?

The full project of BRUTAL. I said to my partner after the record studio process «  I clearly don’t know how to build this powerful piece on stage ». And he said simply something like «  I do. Don’t worry » I WAS worried because I had to be at the same time on keyboards, guitar, bass, vocals ( different layers). BUT we made it, with loopers and creativity.

It was challenging because I don t have his kind of inner synchronicity ( that is the beauty of percussionist/drummer) and I am not a big master of technologic stuff but after some anger time with my self and breathing exercises to calm down my «  perfectionist attitude » I finally was able to make it:D. And we have to evolve this project for the next stage in November; again new challenges and unknown « zones » to explore and put in place.

Dream Collaboration and why ?

I won’t say dream but I will be interested in exploring a crossover with Jack White even though I clearly don’t know what he is exploring today. The reason will be , I just feel it ( Intuition).
