There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to a new feature that will appear regularly this year in the travel section.
When I think of France and the coast, there are a couple of areas that spring to mind that make me think of beauty and wonder and one of those locations we will discussing today. I went to Biarritz for a day and a half in 2018 when we were staying in the area of Bordeaux for Christmas. It was a weird situation to head to the area as we had just celebrated Christmas and the person I was travelling with had got a bug and was feeling rough. The day that we travelled here they had a migraine so I ended up exploring by myself.
The first thing that stood out to me was how amazing the coastline was – there was so many unique places along it that I was constantly taking my camera and taking hundreds of photographs. I walked up and down the same coast a lot that afternoon because there was so much to see that I did not always find the rock formations or shapes the first time I walked past. This picture that you are looking at today was only discovered on my last walk up the coast and found it by accident.
This beach was incredibly pretty it was so rugged and I loved the way that the rocks peek through the sea which makes it a really photographic location. The one thing that I loved about this area of France was that the colour of the rocks was this really unusual colour a sort of yellow brown which also made it incredibly striking.
It was one of my favourite areas to take pictures and I took so many and I am sure that I will mention this area again in the up and coming months. This is a fantastic photograph and I really love it.
