Forgotten Songs! – This Week – Space Cowboy

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Space Cowboy – Jamiroquai

Back in the nineties there was a musician that dominated the charts and I don’t think that we have spoken about it on this feature before. So today, we are going to take a look at one of his songs that you may recognise.

Space Cowboy was released by musician Jamiroquai on the 26th September 1994. It was written and produced by Jay Kay himself and released on the record label of Sony Soho Square. It was the lead single to be released from his second album The Return of the Space Cowboy which was also released in 1994.

Apparently the version of the song that was released was a lot shorter then the version that appears on the album. The version that appears on the album is longer and has a much longer bassline.

The song did relatively well in the charts and went into the top 20 in the Europe Chart (3), Iceland (3), Italy (6), the UK singles chart (17) and the US Dance chart (1). In the United Kingdom, it sold over 200,000 copies and was certified silver.
