Like A Rose – A1
It is always interesting to look at a song by a boyband because there was a time in the pop industry when they were the one thing that people used to love and there was a huge influx of them at the beginning of the noughties. Today we are going to look at a ballad that was released by a band that were mainly known for their uplifting tracks, that had dance routines and catchy choruses. In their time as a band, they released a few slow songs and today we are going to take a look at one of them.
Like A Rose was a single that was released by the band A1 on the 21st February 2000, it was written by Steve Mac, Wayne Hector and Ben Adams and it was released on the record label of Columbia. The single was the fourth track to be released off of their debut album Here We Come which was released a year earlier in 1999. The song did relatively well in the UK Charts and went into the top ten at the position number 6.
I only heard this song for the first time a few months ago for the first time in years. If you want a track to define what boyband ballads sounded like in the early noughties, then this track is a perfect definition of what a lot of them sounded like. It has a punchy chorus and has lyrics that you would probably want to sing along to as well.
