Taste Of States – This Week – Ketchup and Mustard Doritos

Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.

KETCHUP AND MUSTARD DORITOS

There are always a lot of new crisp flavours released in America and today I thought we would take a look at not one but two flavours that are being in time for summer this year and it will give you a taste that you hopefully had a chance to enjoy.

In May, it was announced that the company behind Doritos, Fritos-Lay, was going to release two brand new flavours that fans could enjoy for a limited time this year and they are based on two different condiments. It was such a limited release that they were only available to purchase for the month of July.

The crisps were around $5.59 to purchase and their flavours were very different in their taste. The ketchup version apparently was based on the Canadian style ketchup that has a tangy taste to it. The mustard version of the crisp has taken inspiration from the flavours of the Chinese Hot Mustard.

The reviews online are very positive for these two flavours as they live up to the taste that you would expect from them and were a nice snack to eat.
