REVIEW – Funny At The Fringe – 50 Midlife Crises To Try Before You Die

A show about mid life crisis, not really something In my early thirties I am really thinking about but only a few months ago I started to have those feelings about work life love etc (I mean who didn’t after the pandemic!) So why not go and see a show solely focussed on that very topic – or fifty to be more precise!

The room is completely full, I am the youngest in the audience but it doesn’t put me off at all and actually intrigues me more as it’s a different audience to other shows I have been to. I have got to say as well it’s also one of the most interactive and participating audiences I have ever been a part of as well.

50 Midlife Crisis to Try Before you Die has two hosts, Sharon and Damian who are the most warm hosts and welcoming. They make an effort to talk to their audience before the show starts and involves them throughout. The show is broken into three segments, two stand up sections and a section in the middle where they try to help a member of the audience with their own mid life crisis.

It is a show like no other that I have seen at the festival so far and I have to say that this is a show that brings the true fringe experience to the audience. It is vibrant, it is funny and for a “darkish” topic it is brought to life in a light-hearted and energetic way.

If you are looking for a show that is unique, full of surprises and has a surprise ending, then this is the show for you. Be sure to book fast though as it is very popular
