• During shooting in the United Center for the “Shoot the Puck” scene, Kevin James actually made it into the net while practicing for the scene. The extras in the United Center erupted with “Chelsea Dagger” to commemorate his accomplishment.
• Winona Ryder won the lead female role after two auditions, beating out the likes of Kate Beckinsale, Carla Gugino, and Uma Thurman.
• Filmed entirely in Chicago, Illinois, which was where the film had its world premiere. With the exception of one scene in Detroit
