How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the Camden fringe?

In 2020 I told friends that I was going to be putting on a show at the Fringe that year, well that was until the other thing I do not want to mention happened to the world! put a delay to that

So now the title is really a letter saying, Hey do you remember all those years ago I told you about that play, well now here it is.   But it’s changed quite a lot since.

It’s now about all of those stories we tell each other throughout our lives that go into the ether & are either forgotten about or are discarded as nonsense.

Tell us a little bit about your style of show?

It’s a Funny, Physical, Experimental, Mental, Clown(y), Dance(y) piece, with a few other elements of suspense, mystery & surprise with a couple of twists & comedy.

What will your set be about?

It’s mainly about people, the stories that come with them & their relationships with each other, & how they are brought together & slotted in by the universe.

We have five individual performers (one of those performers being a Figment) that come together & don’t quite meet at first, but when they do, want to share something special & secretive about themselves to us, that may not be quite apparent at first sight.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

Lady Chatterley’s Liver by Chaos Theory, Holiday by David Houston & Touch Miracle by Dongjin Li

Have you done the fringe before? What have been some of your favourite shows to date and why?

No, this is the first Fringe show that I have put on & am very excited.  I saw The Old House by Kate Maravan which had everything in it from grief & loss to laughter & liberation, with some wonderful storytelling.

What advice would you give to others who want to perform at Camden Fringe next year?

Do it & don’t delay!!   It’s a great organisation & Zena & Michelle are lovely & supportive & it’s never ever too early to start preparations.  The more you do now the easier it will be when the showtime comes & then you can enjoy the build-up with a clear mind without having to worry about too many other things because they would have all been prepared for.

What is the best thing about performing at the Camden fringe?

It’s local, the people, the venue & the area.  It has always got a great buzz about it no matter when you visit, & the ladies that run the Fringe are super friendly, helpful & lovely.

London can be an expensive place to perform in – what key advice would you give to performers that is a sort of life hack?

Cycle around London, it keeps you fit, saves on Gym Membership & you get around faster.  Try to make your own lunch too, it’s cheaper, tastes better & you know what’s in it.   Oh yeah & live in the present moment as much as possible, it makes you happier.

What are your three favourite things about Camden?

The people, the energy & the beer

Favourite one liner you have done in a show and why?

My name is Piero Grandinetti, & I am an Argentinian.   It’s such a silly line because my name is clearly Italian, then I come out with something so random where it doesn’t make any sense, which is probably why I like so much it.

Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?

Stephen Hawking

The iconic image of the Camden Fringe is the Pigeon – if you could call this year’s pigeon a name to represent its style what would it be and why?

Wilfred The Great, because he is an animal of sorts, & has magical supernatural powers
