The Travel Book – Banca Di Roma, Glasgow, Scotland

It can be really difficult to find a great place to eat and today we are going to talk about a restaurant that has fantastic food, amazing interiors and is a place that you will want to check out if you are in Glasgow.

Banca di Roma is located at 31 Royal Exchange Square, a five to ten minute walk from Queen Street Station and Central Station. The show is opened daily from Midday to midnight and it is recommended that you come early or pre-book as it is very popular.

The building is very grand and that is because before it was a restaurant it used to be the Royal Bank of Scotland – it is also a Grade II Listed Building. The interior is very grand and it is something that will really impress you – I would say the ceiling and the tree really will blow you away. (Also if you are looking for that ‘Instagramable’ moment then this is it. )

Now, let;s talk about the main thing – the food. There are a number of menus available – there is an A La Carte and lunch menu that is available Monday to Friday between 12-4pm. There is many things available on offer including Fettuccine al Ragu, Rissotto Zafferano, Polo Milanese and Tortello Acciughe e burrata to name a few.

I visited Banca Di Roma on a whim and I am so glad that I did. The food was absolutely amazing – I would say that it is some of the best food that I have had outside of Italy. I had the lasagna Verde which is the restaurants take on the classic and it was so tasty. The waiters are friendly and it is a very welcoming place to go. I would warn that the food is pricey but it is really worth it.
