The Travel Book – Travel Through A Photo – Córdoba, Spain

There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to a new feature that will appear regularly this year in the travel section. Today we are going to kick things off by looking at one of my favourite photos.

If there is one thing that you can say about Spain is that there are so many places that are so photogenic that when you visit any of the cities, all you want to do is take photographs. There are many images that I have taken on my travels and there are many that I can talk about for ages as to why today we are going to look at one of them.

One year, we went to Seville for holiday and as part of that we went to Córdoba for a couple of days – it is such a fascinating place that I ended up taking a lot of photographs of the city. There is a lot of history there which makes it a wonderful location to find these sweet spots for a picture.

There was this courtyard that was in the centre of this religious building and it was so beautiful that I had to take a photograph. I really liked the way that the orange tree was in front of this tower and loved the way that the bells were so striking and a prominent part of it.

It was such an interesting contrast between the old and the new and I really loved the way that they looked together so I took this photograph. Whenever I look at this photograph it brings back great memories, hot weather and really interesting.
