Every other Sunday we are taking a look at the world of books. I read a lot and always want to share my opinions on what I read, so I thought it would be fun to write reviews. Today we are looking at a book that is a romantic comedy.
One Night With You (2022)
Laura Jane Williams
Synopsis
t’s his first night in London. And her last…
Ruby’s leaving London. She’s not running away from her ex per se, but an exciting opportunity in a new city has landed at the perfect time.
Nic is moving to London. After a bad break-up, he’s excited to see where big-city life could take him.
When a chance meeting throws the pair of them together for just one night, it’s clear that this could be the start of something special. But there’s one problem: she’s leaving, and he’s just arriving. So, after tonight, they’ll never see each other again… will they?
– from Waterstones
Positive Points
If you are a fan of a book that has good chemistry between the male and female love interests then this is a book that you will enjoy for that section alone. There are some moments in the book that are written really well that you can feel the tensions between them that it makes you want to keep on reading to find out what happens next.
Negative Points
I found that a lot of the plot felt confused and felt that there was a lot of ‘drama’ to make sure that there was a reason for something to happen and to push the story forward. These were not needed a lot of the time. It felt like a lot of the reasons that the couple had to meet was because of these really bug drama moments that ended up becoming very predictable and you end up waiting for the next one to strike.
Overall Review
This book was am average read, there are some really good parts but there are a lot of sections that I find personally, slightly let it down. I felt that there was too much drama for the sake of it. I would say give it a read but expect the expected after the first part happens.
