Say What You Want – Texas
For today’s track, we are heading back to the nineties to relive a song by a band that was very popular at the time and had lots and lots of hits – Texas.
The single Say What You Want was released 9th January 1997 and it was written by Johnny McElhone and Sharleen Spiteri. The song was the first track to be released off of the bands fourth album White on Blonde which was also released in 1997.
The song went into the top 20 in many countries including Australia (11), Iceland (17), Norway (11) and Spain (3) to name a few. In the United Kingdom it sold 600,000 copies, and it went to number 3 and became certified Platinum.
In 1998, Texas teamed up with Wu-Tang Clan to create a remix version called Say What You Want (All Day, Every Day and it even charted as part of a Double A side with the song Insane.
This song I remember being huge and that it was always on the radio. It was a track that was very striking and had a very catchy chorus.
