There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to a new feature that will appear regularly this year in the travel section. Today we are going to kick things off by looking at one of my favourite photos.
I find it surreal that I have been lucky enough to of travelled to the Caribbean and when I look back at old photographs, I still cannot believe that I actually took them. One of the places I went when I did travel over to this area was Saint Lucia.
It was 2013, I was on a cruise and one of the stops was the island of Saint Lucia and we thought that one of the best ways to explore it would be by taking a catamaran tour to see the coast because we knew that there would be so much beauty. We felt that seeing these coastlines was a very important to see.
One of the places that we visited was Marigot Bay, a location that may look familiar as it has been used in films such as Doctor Doolittle and Pirates of The Caribbean.
I took this photo from the boat and I really like it. I love the way the palm trees contrast against against the wonderful blue sea. I adore the fact that there is a bright colourful sails of yachts there as well. It feels like an image that connotes paradise and hot weather and that is EXACTLY what it was like.
The one thing I love about this photo is the vibrancy. I think because I took this photograph on my professional camera, it allows the image to have a lot of depth. This brings back so many happy memories.
