The Travel Book – Travel Through A Photo – The Balearic Sea

There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to a new feature that will appear regularly this year in the travel section. Today we are going to kick things off by looking at one of my favourite photos.

There is one thing that you need to know about me, one of my favourite things in the world to take photographs of is sunsets and sunrises. There is something so romantic about them that I just can’t help but take a photo. I always find that when you look back at them at a later date I will look at these photos and think they look like paintings and also can tell a different story everytime you look at it. Today we are going to look at a sunset photo that I think is one of my favourites as I love the way everything is positioned.

This photograph was taken in the Balearic Sea on Christmas Day in 2013 and I love it. I adore the way that the sun is just on the horizon slowly changing to a warm colour to show the setting of the day. I love the way that the colour of the sky is slowly changing in a gradient from a bright orange to a lighter blue at the top and the last thing that I love is the clouds as they are all very different and create a unique story.

This photograph was taken in the sea where we were travelling from Valencia to Tunisia and had a day at sea. I remember watching this sun set and found it absolutely mind blowing. The one thing I love about sunsets is that I find them inspiring and makes me believe that no matter how hard life gets, there will always be something to look out for as the world is much bigger then us all.
