Tell us about:
Your latest single you have released:
“Empire Rock Anthem” is my first single with my rock project CANNONBALL. It’s based on a very powerful riff (that’s I still love even after hours and hours working on the song!), and it tells the story of today’s emperors, living in the parallel world they created, completely unaware of the ongoing catastrophes they spawned. I majored years ago in political sciences and I still look at the world with that political lens. I see the heavy responsibility of our so-called elite in the ecological and social disorders, and I’m appalled in front of their lack of good sense. Even the most cynical leaders of antiquity or middle ages were smarter than they are. In the 16th century, when so many ships where built to go and conquer the world, the French kings decided a massive plan of reforestation, so that there will still be trees for the next generations. Basic reflexions like these are clearly out of today’s emperors range.
Your first single and how you felt when it was released:
Scared and excited. It can be the beginning of everything or the end of everything. Even though facing failure is part of the everyday life for a musician, especially nowadays with the ocean of great musicians competing to get noticed, it’s good from time to time to have some positive feedback from the universe.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
On the first CANNONBALL album that will be released later this year, there’s the song “Anger strike”, that is my personal favourite. It’s the most emotional too (to answer another of your questions). It’s a song that’s in tune with our era. I feel a growing anger in the air, a deep need for a change of our societies. Like the 60’s but with a more down-to-earth approach, that isn’t mainstream yet, but coming slowly to global consciousness. “Anger strike” tries to express this feeling. A few more months to wait before the song is released!
Your favourite song to play live:
I’m currently recruiting musicians to give CANNONBALL a stage existence. Stay tuned to discover the dream team I’m about to gather!
The song that was the longest to write and why?
I’m a rather slow composer and lyricist, and very often, songs can remain unfinished for years until I’m satisfied with the result. On the album to be released, there’s a song called “Oracles of war” about the collapse of our civilization that took me 5 years to be completed. Usually when I take ages to finish a song, it’s because it’s a good one, and that I want everything to be in its right place (a feeling rather hard to get and unpredictable). I heard a French novelist said : “when I write to last sentence of a book, I know it, and sometimes it comes to me as a surprise, but I have to accept it”. The feeling is the same for me with completing a song : when it’s done, I know it, but before, I have no idea.
Your most emotional track:
“Anger Strike”
The best lyric you have ever written:
“Time heals all / all there is / every little wound you hide in you / and all in time belong to the past and you forgive the kid you were at last” – From “(Life’s a journey) Travel light”, that will on the first CANNONBALL’s album.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
I keep asking myself : “Why the f*** do you need to expose your guts, fears and most intimate regrets to a bunch of stranger under bright lights???!!!!
The hardest track to play live:
I’ll answer this question in a year.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Drawings from my kids.
Describe your fans in three words:
Well-read people (let’s try flattery!!!)
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:

What we can look forward to from your band this year:
3 or 4 singles, the first album, videos, first shows, and an irresistible wave of rock’n’roll that will conquer the world along with fellow artists from SODEH Records!!!!
