So Yesterday – Hilary Duff
There was a time when Hilary Duff was not just an actress in shows like How I Met Your Mother and Lizzie Mcguire, but also had a pop career. Today we take a look at a song that she released back in the early noughties that you may just remember.
So Yesterday was released on the 14th July 2003 and it was a track off of the second album Metamorphous which was also released in the same year. The song was released on the record label of Buena Vista, Hollywood and produced by The Matrix.
Just like a lot of songs that were released a that time, the single was premiered on AOL Music, this meant people with access could get the official first listen. When it was officially released for the mainstream media, it became the most added track on the radio for two weeks. The song apparently has been called by fans at the ‘ultimate break up song’.
The track may of been welcomed with mixed reviews but it did well in the charts and went into the top 10 in Australia (8), Canada (2), France (8), Ireland (6), the Netherlands (5) and the UK (9).
