Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
FROSTED LEMON CHEERIOS
Everyone loves a good breakfast cereal and in America it is a very popular dish of the day that they love to remix and make something new, even if it is for a limited time. It was announced in March this year that Cheerios was releasing a brand new flavour for the spring which is none other than Frosted Lemon Cheerios.
The new cereal take the texture of Cheerios of multigrain and oats and mixes them with the flavour of Lemon and have a frosted cover to them to give them that extra special taste. The release is also happening alongside another flavour which is called Oat Crunch Berrys, unlike the lemon version, that is not a limited edition.
A box of Frosted Lemon Cheerios can be purchased for $5.99 at supermarkets for a 14.7 ounce box. Apparently from looking at reviews, when the packet is opened the smell of lemon instantly hits you as it is really powerful. They have also been compared to a more ‘sophisticated version of Fruit Loops.’
