Forgotten Songs! – This Week – No More (Baby I’ma Do Right)

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

No More (Baby I’ma Do Right) – 3LW

Today we are heading back to the early noughties to look at a song by a girl group you might remember. The single No More (Baby, I’ma Do Right) was released by the group 3LW on the 22nd August 2000. The track was written by Sean Hall, Nate Butler and Cameron Giles and produced by Sean ‘Sep’ Hall.

The song was actually the debut single by the group and came from their self titled album that was released the same year.

The song did really well in the charts and went straight to number 1 in the UK Hip Hop charts. It went into the top 20 in the Australian Urban (7), the Netherlands (5), the UK singles chart (6) and the US Mainstream (12).

When I was researching this song, i thought this would be the first time that I would of heard that song however, when I pressed play, a very weird nostalgia hit me and I remember it very slightly from the noughties. I remember the chorus and whilst I don’t think it was played a lot, I definitely knew the song I was listening to. For me personally, I felt it reflected what the music scene sounded like back then.
