Tell us about:
Your latest single you have released:
This single is a cinematic pop song about a girl I knew many years ago. The song is an intense take on the bittersweet nature of nostalgia.
Your first single and how you felt when it was released:
My first single is titled “Stop the Show” I was 17 when the song came out, and it actually reached number 17 on the Billboard Dance Charts. I was very excited about my first single, it still to this day feels like a big milestone in my career.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
I haven’t released an album yet, but I hope to sometime soon.
Your favourite song to play live:
My favorite song to play live is probably Daphne. I really connect with the song, so it feels like I can just get lost in it while singing it.
The best lyric you have ever written:
The best lyric I’ve ever written is also probably Daphne. I really find the chorus to be captivating and clever lyrically-
“Daphne
on the main-street
of my memory
Daphne
you’re the caffeine
for my dreams”
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
Before the show I tend to feel very anxious, but once I step on the stage I feel a wind of confidence, and get self assured.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Besides the gear, I would bring photos that remind me of home, Milton’s crackers and also a chessboard so I could play chess during downtime.
Describe your fans in three words:
Young, happy, musical
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
Sunroof by Nick Youre is such a great song. I love the simplicity of the melody, and lyrics. So I would have to go for Sunroof as a song that I wish i wrote.
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
There’s lots of new material that is currently in the production phase. The next single is going to be a song called Parasite. It’s my take on toxic lust but done in a playful manner.
