Gotta Work – Amerie
Today we are going to look at a track that I actually came across for the first time the other day and really enjoyed it. Since it was a song I didn’t remember I thought it would be good to share it here in case others had not heard it either.
Gotta Work was a single released by R&B singer Amerie. The track was released on the 14th April 2007 and was produced by One Up and was released on the record label of Columbia. The song was the second single to be released off of her third studio album that was called Because I Love It which was also released the same year.
The song has a musical sample of the 1969 track Soul Sister which was by Erma Franklyn. Gotta Work was also on the soundtrack of the film Fighting which was released in 2009.
The song did alright in the charts and went to number 6 in the United Kingdom music charts. It went to number 16 in Scotland and number 6 in Germany. The song received positive reviews from music magazines.
