Welcome to the feature where we talk to musicians about some of their favourite things about the industry. Today we speak to the band Gathering Of Strangers, a power rock group. Be sure to check out their music by clicking here.
What is your Favourite:
Song you have written
Red & Gold – easy. Absolute banger.
Lyric
“Ain’t it good dancing in the Red and Gold” genius! – I’m not wrong though, it is pretty good isn’t it?
Musician
Probably Bruce. Kills it on the bass and synth plus he’s sexy which is a bonus.
Film or television show
School of Rock derrrr. Isn’t that what all band musicians are supposed to say?
Venue to perform at
Wembley. I’ve heard it’s great. Very much looking forward to it.
Item to take with you on tour
Probably our instruments. They’re kind of important I guess.
Instrument
The rainstick. Saving it for our 4th album which will be 12 songs of pure emotional ballads.
Song to play live
Red & Gold. Did I mention we have a new single out? Check it out!
Album by another musician
Blood sugar sex magik. 4 of the most important things that keep us going as a band.
Memory of tour
Crowd surfing on about 6 people. The reason I now have trust issues.
Era for music
70s! Only 50 more years until we’re back in our happy place.
Part of making a record
I love writing songs and then hearing the magic of it when its recorded and mixed by the genius that we work with. Makes us believe we’re actually pretty decent.
Thing about performing at festivals
The love and patience people have when going around and finding new music. Festivals are a beautifully magic time for bands and musicians. Or maybe that’s just because of the drugs, I dunno.
Quote
‘Dancing in the Red and Gold’ – Shakespeare 1602
Thing about the music industry at the moment
That I could fart into a microphone and release it on Spotify. Honestly amazing how easy it is to get your music around the world these days. We’re very lucky.
Thing about this year so far?
The honest reaction we’ve had from our latest single. We knew we loved it as soon as we wrote it and couldn’t wait for everyone to hear it. The response has been exactly how we’d hoped and the shows have been electric following the release. We can’t wait for what’s next.
