It is that time of the year where we celebrate the acts that you need to keep an eye on in 2023. It is an exciting time of the year as it means we can talk to acts to find out what they have in store for audiences and what you can look forward to in the new year. Today we speak to the musician Lisabel to find out all about plans for the new year.

Hello please introduce yourself?

Hi my name is Lisabel, I’m a singer songwriter based in West London.

How was 2022 for your band – what were the highlights?

This year’s highlight for my project was to open a show for Joel Culpepper with special guest Tom Misch and also the making of a very special music video which will be out next year.

How did you get into music?

I always loved music as a kid but I decided to take vocals lessons when I realised I REALLY liked singing!

What are your plans for the band in 2023?

In 2023 I’ll be releasing lots of music and hopefully play some great gigs to bigger audiences.

What other bands and musicians are you looking forward to seeing perform this year?

I’d love to see Jordan Rakei live in 2023!

What styles do you hope to see more of in music his year?

Not sure, I think there’s a lot of everything, you just have to be curious enough to find it!

What band is your ones to watch in 2023 and why?

All of my friends are ones to watch in my opinion! Levina, Lee Marie Nyx, Hollie, Bea Garcia and many more!

Do you have any new years resolutions? If so what are they?

More music with different people. It’s the age of collaborations!

Are you on social media? If so how can people find out more about you?

@lisabelmusic is my handle for mostly every social media platform. Otherwise just Lisabel

Three words why people should come and see you this year?

 Energy, newness, poetry
