It is that time of the year where we celebrate the acts that you need to keep an eye on in 2023. It is an exciting time of the year as it means we can talk to acts to find out what they have in store for audiences and what you can look forward to in the new year. Today we speak to Virtue In Vain about new music and tours.
Hello tell us all about your band?
We are a 4 piece progressive metalcore band from South Wales and London. We have released two EP’s and a single and played all around the UK
How was 2022 for your band – what were the highlights?
2022 was a great year for us, it was the first time we were able to get out and play shows since the start of the pandemic. Our highlight for the year so far would have to be going out on a weekender with Ventures UK and meeting some great people along the way.
How did you get into music?
Mason: I originally got into music at a young age when I started playing the piano at the age of 4. Through the years of playing, it gave me a good understanding of music theory and led me into trying other instruments, from there I settled on guitar and bass, eventually finding Virtue in Vain.
What are your plans for the band in 2023?
2023 should be a big year for us in ViV, we have new music planned for releasing, as well as a few tours and shows throughout the year.
What other bands and musicians are you looking forward to seeing perform this year?
I’m looking forward to seeing Muse live next year. As well as seeing Northlane and Sleep Token.
What styles do you hope to see more of in music this year?
I would love to finally have another album from Structures, as well as new music from Trivium.
What band are you ones to watch in 2023 and why?
I would love to finally see Make Them Suffer live, as well as seeing The Omnific and Polyphia.
Do you have any new year’s resolutions? If so, what are they?
I have one at the moment, just to try and get fitter in order to put on better shows with ViV, I love playing live but hate aching after giving it my all.
Are you on social media? If so, how can people find out more about your troupe?

Something that I could sell for a lot of money
