I really enjoy writing this article, especially when you can talk about different hotels as it can be one of the hardest things to find when you are looking for somewhere to stay when you are abroad. Well, today we are going to look at a hotel that I stayed in and really enjoyed my time there. I stayed over the festive season one year so it was probably out of season but I can only give you a reflection of my time that I stayed there.

The Sofitel Luxembourg Le Grand Ducal is located in the capital on Rue du Laboratoire which is about a fifteen minute walk from the train station. It is also in a location that is easy to access the sites whilst also being on a road that has a lovely view and also pretty quiet.

Now, this is a pricey hotel, as most Sofitel’s are because they are usually a 5 star and this is no different. The average room costs anything from £190 a night and many different sizes are on offer. I would say, if you have the money to spend on the hotel for a couple of days then I would recommend it.

The hotel is home to many services including a bar called the L’Observatoire and a restaurant called Mu Luxembourg which both have some fantastic views over the city. I went to the bar in the evening and really loved watching the lit up view of the city in front of us.

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel – the rooms were quiet, the beds were comfy and it was just a lovely time at this location. It made the stay in the city a magical experience that I would really like to visit again.
