30 Best Songs of 2022 – Pt 2

It has come to the point of the year when we celebrate all things music and take a look back on the year and what songs that it has provided us with. Today we have a look at the second part in our list of greatest songs of 2022.

11) Whose In Control – Set It Off

IT was a big year for Set It Off as they released a brand new album called Elsewhere which was to explore new areas of the genre merging as they are a group that mix their genres on a regular basis. The group released a brand new single Who’s In Control which had a really unique sound to it which was fun to listen to.

12) I Went Hunting – George Ezra

In June of this year musician George Ezra released a brand new song called I Went Hunting. This was the third track to be released off of the artists up and coming album that was to be called Gold Rush Kid. The track also came with the news that he was going on tour later in the year as well.

13) SCRIPTVRE – Kasabian

It was a huge year for Kasabian as it meant new music came with an altered line up – with the departure of Tom it meant that Sergio took the reigns and became the lead singer. This track was released on the 6th of May and came with the announcement of an album as well. It is really catchy and really portrays the new chapter for the band.

14) Haven’t Found You Yet – Blue

It was a year when boybands returned to the scene and one of those groups was none other then Blue that returned with a really catchy brand new single. The song was released on the 25th May 2022 and was the debut track off of the up and coming sixth studio album Heart & Soul. The track was written by Anthony Costa, Alexander Karlsson, Lee Ryan, Ronny Svendsen and Anne Judith Wik.

15) Made You Look – Meghan Trainor

It is a song that has become a sort of viral sensation online and if you use apps such as Tik Tok then you will be aware of the dance that came with it as well. The song was released on the 21st October 2022 and was off of the fifth studio album called Takin’ It Back. The song premiered on Candy Crash Saga and went into the top 5 in many countries including Australia (3), Belgium (5), Ireland (3), New Zealand (2), Phillipines (3) and the UK (2).

16) Skin Of My Teeth – Demi Lovato

This year was a big one for musician Demi Lovato as the singer released a brand new direction for the music and went into the world of rock and pop punk. Skin of My Teeth was released on the 10th June 2022 on the record label Island Records. It was the lead single off of Demi’s eighth studio album Holy Fvck. The songs lyrics delve into people’s criticisms and opinions about addictions and rehab.

17) Break My Soul – Beyoncé

One of the queens of pop returned to the scene this year with a brand new track and a brand new album. Break My Soul was the lead track to welcome the new music by Beyoncé, it was released on the 20th June 2022. The track came off of the seventh studio album Renaissance. The song samples the track Explode by the musician Big Freedia and also Show Me Love by Robin S.

18) The Funeral – Yungblud

On the 11th March of this year Yungblud released the single The Funeral which starred The Osbournes in the music Video. It was a track that would end up being the lead single off of the new album which was self titled. As well as releasing a new album, touring the world, Yungblud also did a really emotional interview with Louis Theroux.

19) When We Were Young – Architects

The rock band Arhictects released a brand new track called When We Were Young which was catchy, heavy and everything you could wish for from a band like this. The track was released in April with the announcement of a tour as well.

20) New To You – Calvin Harris

On the 29th July 2022 Calvin Harris released the second track off of Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 which was New To You. It was the second collaboration between the DJ and Tinashe and it also stars Normani. It was released on Columbia records and only charted in Japan and New Zealand.
