Trivia
Most of the film is improvised, with the producers telling the actors what would happen in the scene, and the actors acting it out, with no script.
When Mr Maddens and the children are running in Hollywood Studios, it can be seen they are actually on location in Hollywood, as the set for fictional medical drama, Greys Anatomy, can be seen.
Nativity was shot in Coventry during the summer. The local inhabitants decorated the streets to make it look more Chistmassy
Debbie Isitt got the idea for the film after watching her daughter’s school nativity play. Her daughter has a small part in the film.
The children were all recruited from an open casting call in the Midlands in the UK. None of them had acted before.
Debbie Isitt played Mary in her school nativity when she was seven years old. Her sister was Mary the year before and her other sister was Mary the year after.
