What is your Favourite:

Song you have written

It’s always the last one I wrote. Currently I think that would be a song called “Shared”.

Lyric

If I had to pick one though I think it would have to be from a song I’ve been listening to lately… Which is Olivia Rodrigo’s “traitor”. That last line in the chorus hits so hard: “You didn’t cheat but you’re still a traitor”.

Musician

There are so many! The most recent that comes to mind would be PinkPantheress, I don’t listen to her that often but I love the way she produces her own stuff – it’s a whole universe that she’s created. 

Film or television show

Currently addicted to Stranger Things!

Venue to perform at

I haven’t performed at many but hopefully one day I could do like the Hollywood Bowl or something iconic like that.

Item to take with you on tour

So I haven’t actually been on tour but I don’t think I can live without being on TikTok everyday right now so I gotta say my phone.

That would be “Memento” right now! It’s so fun.

SZA’s Ctrl is a masterpiece. I could listen to it from top to bottom so many times through.

I plan to make some, I promise!

Era for music

The 2030s. I’m all for the new music will come in the future! It’s really cool hearing people come up with new sounds, new ways of saying things, and new aesthetics.

Part of making a record

Finishing it. So satisfying! Oh, and when I get back the masters and they’re sounding slick? That’s probably my favourite. Shoutout to Dale over at Becker Mastering in California for working on my upcoming EP!

Thing about performing at festivals

Once more, hopefully I’ll collect some favourite festival things for you for next time!

Thing about the music industry at the moment

That everyone has a shot at this music thing thanks to the Internet. It doesn’t make it easier necessarily, I mean, the fact that there are less hoops to getting your music out there also means that more people are trying to do it, so it’s harder to stand out. But I mean, I think if you’re making solid art, it’ll shine through eventually.

Thing about this year so far?

That I’m FINALLY releasing more music, and my second EP METADAMATIC! Oh! And a whole bunch of limited run merch as well through my brand Emotional Sauna, named after my first EP. You can check it all out at emotionalsauna.com.
