It’s funny, sometimes when you are drunk it can lead you to end up liking a song and an artist and that is exactly what happened with the song that I am going to talk about today. The first time that I came across Lady Gaga was at the end of a Pussycat Dolls video – I cannot remember why it was there I think it either rolled on to another video but I am sure it was actually part of the video because I do have a memory of me sitting there think what the hell is this. The track of Just Dance and I was not a fan.
Initially, I could not get on with Gaga, I just could not stand Just Dance, even now, I am not really a fan. I don’t know why, it just annoyed me. I cannot remember where I first heard Poker Face, but more then likely it was in music video form. I was at university and I used to spend time when I had it, watching new music videos. I was not sure of this song at first, I couldn’t decide if I liked it but I noticed that there were dance moves in the video that I enjoyed like this thing she did with her eye where she put her hand up and made like a glasses shape.
I was at university, so there were a lot of nights we went out to the clubs to dance and have a great time, it was during my alcohol state, that I started to like Lady Gaga, every time Poker Face came on in a club I used to get excited and do the eye thing that she did in the videos. There are many photos of me from this time with me doing this eye thing as I used to pose a lot like it in photos.
From that point on I started to really like Lady Gaga’s music, I enjoyed her first two albums very much but I am not sure if it would of taken longer for me to enjoy her music if I had not had those experiences in the first place.
