There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Pieces– Chase & Status feat Plan B

Today we are going to look at a track that I used to be a huge fan of when I was at University as I really liked the way that the song had different sections to it.

Pieces was released on the 29th September 2008, it was a track by Chase & Status and featured the vocals of British rapper Plan B. The song was actually the first single for the group and was the first one to be released off of the debut album More Than Alot. The track was written by Will Kennard, Saul Milton and Ben Drew and released under the record label of RAM. The single was a double A single with Eastern Jam also being released at the same time.

The song did really well in the United Kingdom and went to number 1 in the UK Dance chart. On the main singles chart, it unfortunately only went to number 70.

I found songs like this were a easy way to get into the genre drum and bass and dubstep which were really popular at the time. I really liked the way that the song developed and drops after this soulful lyrical section.
