Tell us about:
Your latest single you have released:
Dudley: Playing with fire of the cd The American Dream
Kelleigh: american dream… Its just a little bit of life story of all of us
Bill: AMERICAN DREAM IS A KILLER TUNE.
Brian: “The American Dream”
Your first single and how you felt when it was released:
Dudley: Our first ever single to get airplay was Though My Eyes a tune I wrote about the loss of innocence and getting someone to see what reality is in the situation they were in. Felt awesome I heard it on the local station and tried calling the rest of the band but no one answered.
Kelleigh: ooooffff. Im not positive which song it was….but dang… To hear people singing along kinda made my head big..(its back to normal now though)
Bill: PRETTY AWESOME. PEOPLE REACTED TO IT IN A POSITIVE WAY.
Brian: “Through My Eyes” was originally released back in the late 90’s and was the first song on the radio that I had recorded parts on. I was very excited.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
Dudley: That’s a hard one, playing with fire as far as guitar parts on the new cd, the last cd it was the cage because it was the first real group written song and the first cd Id say Arc for the guitar work and the lounge and cheek lyrical content
Kelliegh: nevermore… Basically my domestic violence survivor story…and playing with fire…written for a friend who wanted out of the “friend zone” but wasn’t sure if that would mess up the friendship
Bill: WE ALL CONTRIBUTE BUT COME ON AND RIDE IS FUN TO PLAY.
Brian: Nevermore
Your favourite song to play live:
Dudley: currently its Playing with fire and American Dream
Kelleigh: playing with fire…killer bass lines
Bill: Playing with fire
Brian: “Pushed” from our second album.
Your most emotional track:
Dudley: This cd was lyrically written from a place of pain for half of it The Poison inside or shades of august tell a lot of that story, but in the end better outlooks on life prevailed in my writing toward the end of the sessions, with My life, and Playing with Fire which is about the situation where you have two really great friends who have a spark that keeps smoldering and they wonder if they should take that next step so it tells that story of how a friendship can blossom into an epic love story even though it can be scary
Kelleigh: its not on this album for me… But its “lament” written for my mother after she passed away…
Bill: Stay with me Tonight
Brian: Playing With Fire
The best lyric you have ever written:
Dudley: Best as in funny I would say, would be Arc of my Horn a nod to Spinal Tap, the duo of songs Skit and Nevermore that Kelleigh and I wrote dealing with the disintegration of our relationships at the time and also about domestic abuse issues, she is a survivor, her pos ex tried to kill her by choking her out, both of those lyrics are pretty poignant
Kelleigh: “i can see right through you…before the lies crawled out your mouth”-Nevermore
Bill: NOT MUCH OF A WRITER , yet. Lol.
Brian: I don’t really write lyrics, but I can write riffs all day.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
Dudley: Exhilaration, if a really big show sometimes a little nervous still
Kelleigh: nervous…but it quickly goes away after the crowd responds to the first song…
Bill: TOTALLY EXCITED JUST WAITING FOR DUDLEY TO START THAT INTRO
Brian: Anticipation, a little nervous till I know how the crowd responds to those first opening notes.
The hardest track to play live:
Dudley: Guitar wise, Arc, or American Dream or Stay with me Tonight, Vocally definitely American Dream, or come on n ride
Kelleigh: WTLAT
Bill: HYPNOTIC. ITS MURDER ON THE FINGERS. LOL.
Brian: “Respect” off our second album.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Dudley: Phone, Money for Pizza
Kelleigh: Money, Phone
Bill: CIGGS, LIGHTER, $, PIPE AND SOME WEED.
