HOCUS POCUS WINE
Since it is the month of Halloween, I thought it would be fun to look at spooky themed products that have been available on the market in America. Today we are going to look at a product that was released to tie into a nineties Halloween film favourite.
In October of 2020, it was announced that a themed wine, inspired by the Disney film Hocus Pocus wine was about to be released for a limited time. The wine was a collaboration between Eliqs and organic wine maker Besa Mi Vino and of course Hocus Pocus. The wine was released in a six can pack, which is the equivalent to two bottles of wine. Each pack of wines that were purchased were raising money for the community gardens and parks in NYC. This may seem unusual but Better Midler who plays Winifred Sanderson in the film hosts an annual Hulaween fundraising gala for the NYRP.
The wine was available in two different versions – white and rose. The six packs were priced at $36 and were 12.5% in alcohol levels. Each can also has a different Sanderson sister on it and different quotes. The white wine is apparently dry and sweet with a crisp and light taste. The rose is described online as bright with cherry, rose and lychee tastes.
As well as the wines, which were available for a limited time. you could also purchase tumblers and glasses with iconic Hocus Pocus sayings on them.
